Three cheers for Goulbourn
Sunday, June the third was the annual 'Ottawa Open House' festival. The Goulbourn Museum set out it's stall with many displays including ladies in old costumes performing the very complicated craft of lace making. Musicians, Freshwater Trade, very ably playing old, folk music and a blacksmith, Robert L. Vaughan demonstrating his skills to mention but a few. Pickle and Pearl wanted to go so the 'guide' had to take them. They like conveyances (see the Christmas Parade issue) and they were pleased with the vintage fire engine and of course, as usual, had me take a picture. Standing by the appliance are Dawn Marincak the Rural Public Education Officer and the Duke of Richmond and Lennox portrayed with style and dignity by Robin Derrick. The Museum is to be congratulated on the work and effort that was put into this endeavour and the 'guide' hopes that there will be lots of support for this society in the future.
