Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

No sign of defences?

As the old film 'Travelogues' narrator used to say in a cultured, sing-song voice, "And so we say farewell to the warm and sunny shores of South America and make our way to the cold and snow of Antarctica"
"I am glad" says Pearl, "to be enclosed in the warmth of our spaceship, while the cold and frosty winds outside do blow, and as the windows have not yet frosted up, we can take pictures". "Yes" said Pickle, "what we have here is the coast of Antarctica and a few icebergs seen from a great height. We will make no comment about how the ice continent is disappearing by many hundreds of square kilometres each year due to 'global warming' and fly straight along the coast and head North to Africa where the sun shines warmly and we can get out and stretch our roots".
