They can't fly away.

We are still at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and looking at Ostriches. Those funny looking flightless birds that are falsely accused of burying their heads in the sand when they are frightened. What would you do? Run away of course, and so do the ostriches at (in the vernacular) a high rate of knots. These stupid, ugly looking creatures with the funny walk (see Monty Python) are a big draw in menageries, especially with artists but on the whole, contribute nothing to the well-being of Man (or Woman) excpt for a curious fascination with the bizzare. This is not to be confused with the bazaar with its wondrous collection of stuff.
