Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

Old Masters?

Ever since the 'invasion' by the visitors to Britain, it seems that the neighbours across the English (note) Channel have been laughing their 'chausettes' off at the antics and inconveniences of these 'adorable' little guests. However, and this is a big however, findings by the Hysterical Society of Nottingham of some of the paintings in the Louvre and other Galleries show that the French have nothing to laugh at. Indeed they must certainly keep their 'chausettes' on if the samples from these masterpieces are anything to go by.
The detail from "The Gleaners" by Millet speaks for itself. Is this where French Onion Soup originated?. On the right we have a portrait of Napoleon in drag by Francois Gerard which shows that the French need cast no 'bon mots comique' across the (English) Channel.
