Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

Downtown too

Pickle and Pearl wanted to take another look 'Downtown'. So I took them to the heart of Ottawa in front of the British Embassy to see the sights. I (the 'Guide') told them that this (in the picture) is the 'Chateau Laurier'. Well! What an uproar that caused, Pickle wanted to know why the cake had green icing on top and I had to tell him it is not a 'Gateau" but a 'Chateau' and it wasn't green icing it was the copper roofs (rooves?) that were green. Then Pickle wanted to know why the building had grown a mouldy green coating and I had to tell them that all the old buildings in Ottawa were mouldy. They seemed to be satisfied with the explanation but as they remarked, "This would never happen in Ascalonia".
