Village Fest again
It is hard to believe that Pickle and Pearl have been around this earth for so long. This is the second year they have been to Stittsville's Village Fest. By Fest I suppose the powers-that-be mean 'Festival' and not 'Feast' although there were delectable comestibles on offer. This year was exciting for P. & P. because of the return of the "Soapbox Derby". Reminiscing with a lady spectator, the view was that the 'soapboxes' had become sleek, streamlined plastic-bodied (in some cases) kits (but nicely painted) and Pickle, who likes speed, took part in one of the heats but as he was too light and didn't have much push came second. As he doesn't have the knack or skill to build one he 'borrowed' a racer and, of course, lost although he did reach a respectable speed of 22 KPH.
