The Greeks had a word for it.
"Well" said Pickle "here we are in Greece". "Do you mean candle grease?" asked Pearl. "No, you ignoramous" said Pickle, "I mean the country, G-R-E-E-C-E and here is a picture of the famous Parthesome". "Now who's an ignoramous" said Pearl, "Don't you mean the Parthenon". "Look" said Pickle "if it's there it must be some, it can't be 'none', after all, I was around when they built it more than 2,400 years ago and they didn't think it was 'none' at the time. For nearly 900 years it was a temple to Athena, for nearly a thousand years it was a Christian church and for two hundred years a Moslem Mosque and it was the Venetian forces in the seventeenth century who besieged the Turks and destroyed the inside, and so history was made".
