Yard Sale

In their search for customs and habits of inhabitants, Pickle and Pearl said to their 'guide' "What now"? I said, "Well, there is a phenomenon that crops up each year in the Spring, after the snow has melted, known by most people as a 'Yard Sale'. Why it is called a 'Yard Sale' I do not know, I never met anyone who sold their 'Yard'. Sometimes called a 'Garage Sale', but nobody buys the garage! Then there is the 'Flea Market' and as Pickle pointed out, "Who wants to buy fleas"? Be that as it may, P. and P. insisted on being taken to one and here they are. However, they were a little late and most of the 'good stuff' had been sold with the leavings going to a Charity Shop where the 'stuff' that I had donated came from in the first place.
