Blow your own trumpet
Another trip back in time to the days when Pickle and Pearl's 'guide' was a member of the Royal Air Force in India. The name of the band was the "RAF Ambassadors" and was responsible for many of the servicemen on leave from Burma, in Calcutta, staggering the light fantastic. It was obvious that Pickle and Pearl's ancestors loved the music of the Big Bands even though the "Ambassadors" was not one of them, in spite of the fact that the future 'guide' of the current P. & P. sang some of the love songs of the age for the ladies who insisted on crowding round the bandstand with adoring looks on their creamy, smooth, brown faces. (They must have seen too many Frank Sinatra movies).
What has this to do with Pickle and Pearl? Nothing really, I just thought I would 'blow my own horn' for a change!
