Down Memory Lane

Occasionally old pictures appear by accident which points out the fact that Pickle and Pearl and their numerous offspring have been around for many years. This is one we came across recently which shows a library storyteller "Uncle Wally", in his younger years, reading to the 'Kiddiewinkies' although it seems that in those days books were more plentiful and the aforementioned K's each had their own copy with which they were able to follow along. (Like todays 'bouncing ball'). The picture must be a few hundred years old (maybe some of our faithful readers may be able to enlighten the Editor?) and "Uncle Wally" is still doing his stuff today, although in his declining years he has grown a beard, (see 7th. September). Today "Uncle Wally" reads Dr. Seuss instead of Dr. Isaac Newton.
