Feed the birds!

Pickle and Pearl's 'guide' decided, in light of the cold weather, to feed some of the chickadees in Stony Swamp. Of course, Pickle and Pearl wanted to come along too. Swamp is right, the 'guide' was swamped from the moment he set foot on the trail at the entrance to Stony Swamp. The poor starving chickadees flocked around, landing on the 'guide's cap in untold numbers. The numbers were untold because the 'guide' could not see the top of his cap, he could only feel. As he allowed the feeding chickadees to grab sunflower seeds from his palm, as shown him by a very dear friend, P. & P. watched the grateful birds choose a plump seed and fly away. Pickle and Pearl were best pleased and said would I come back tomorrow with a bigger supply of sunflower seeds, I said yes, but don't expect me to hold my bare hand out too long, it is too cold. I will put what is left on the floor for them to eat at their leisure.
