Draw your bow-man
Pickle asked me (the 'guide') how did the Hysterical Society of Nottingham get involved in their doings? Well! It started like this - A move is afoot by the Hysterical Society of Nottingham to change the shape of the printed English language. The society wanted to get rid of the plain, unvarnished letters to which we are accustomed and substitute them with something new and more artistically ENGLISH, (see inset). This change in the typeface would be known as the "Serif of Nottingham". A principal objector to this is a well-known game warden and member of the Ancient Order of Foresters, Rob Loxley, better known for his role as the merrie woodsman in the "Archers" radio programme.
LITTLE FLY upon the frame/ Stay off the picture- if it's all the same!/ You're on the part that I just lacquered/ Another minute and you'll be knackered.
