Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

Train spotting

Two weeks ago, Pickle was intrigued by the issue which talked about Scarborough in Yorkshire and the television show 'Heartbeat'. He wanted to know more about my 'doings' in England on one of my visits, so I (the 'guide') dug out some old photographs to show him. I asked him if he remembered this one (pictured above) and once again he was pleased to see himself portrayed as a simple bystander. I made it clear to him that it was the train which is used on 'Heartbeat' and I was a passenger on it. The line is called the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and runs between Grosmomt and Pickering, a distance of about 18 miles. It is run by a Trust and staffed mainly by volunteers which makes it an ideal place for anyone who grew up with a train set and never outgrew it!
LITTLE FLY upon the clock/ Do you tick or do you tock?/ On the pendulum you swing/ Wait 'til the clock goes ring-a-ding ding.
