Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

Hunting the wild silkworm.

Having been welcomed in France and Spain, Pickle and Pearl are now ready to move on in their fact-finding (spying?) mission on their next stop to Italy. Before they leave Spain however, they are treated to a look around the Palacio de El Pardo, a Royal hunting lodge and Palace, once inhabited by General Franco. The finely woven 'tapiceria' behind them was made in the 18th century by an army of silkworms following a stitch-by-numbers canvas provided by a troupe of 'cigarro' rolling senoritas led by a Senorita Carmen. (You may roll your 'rrs' if you wish).
LITTLE FLY upon the stair/ They seek you here, they seek you there/ Are you on riser or are you on post/ One swipe - and you'll give up the ghost!
