Tulip-Time

Pickle and Pearl wanted to take another look at the tulips at Dow's Lake. As they remarked, they do not have flowers on Ascalonia, it is considered a waste of good growing land, most of it being taken up with growing leeks to give the population the opportunity to abuse and pillory them which seems to be the only amusement the Ascalonions get apart from looking for alien planets such as Earth to invade. Not that Earthlings are worried. Earth people have long ago reached the opinion that what the Earth needs is a big infusion of French Onion Soup. (I wonder if Pickle has worked this out?)
