Capital, capital.
Now that old man Winter has loosened his grip over this polyglot land (the Inuit has many names for the differemt types of 'snow'), the season has arrived when Lawn Bowling is once more possible. It is barely possible in Winter because the Goulbourn Bowling Club does not have any black jacks. You notice I typed 'Lawn Bowling' with Capitals. That is because Lawn Bowling is a capital sport, capital exercise and capital fun played by capital people. The club will start it's season on Monday, May the eleventh. The starting time is 09.30 but bowlers are asked to present themselves before 09.15 to be included in the draw for teams, and of course in smooth soled shoes, we don't want the delicate grass roughed up, do we.
If you have never bowled before, not to worry, yours truly will gently introduce you to the Capital Game of Lawn Bowling.
