Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

It's how you play the game.

With the Winter Olympic Games coming to Canada, Pickle and Pearl while visiting Greece had a look at the birthplace of the Games. It was an honour to compete in the games in those days and if you have watched the movie "Chariots of Fire" you will get the idea that they were probably contested in the 'buff'. This is why the custom of pinning medals on the chest of the winners was dropped and the medals were hung on ribbons. No, in those early days, gold was scarce and the victors were 'crowned' with a laurel wreath but as these were easy to duplicate it would seem that there were many more victors than there were contests. Everyone was a winner.
LITTLE FLY upon the wreath/ I hope that you are underneath/ If I find you're not a winner/ My little spray will make you thinner.
