Marbles, anyone?
Having heard somewhere that Carrara is the marble capital of the world, Pickle and Pearl thought that as they are in Italy they fancied a good game of marbles, so they visited that city. When they got there they realised that is was not that kind of marbles. Instead, they saw men chipping away at big chunks of rock to produce works of 'Art'. The man in the picture, having read the sports page in the local newspaper, folded it, and put it on his head to keep the sun off. After he had finished chipping at a big rock there wasn't much left so he was trying to do a bigger one.
POCO MOSCA upon the stone/ It's not often I hear you moan/ The mason wears a paper 'capello'/ But look out for his sharp 'cesello'.
