Pickle and Pearl

A very enjoyable, entertaining selection of the adventures of two onions! Our thanks go out to Walter, who has graciously volunteered to keep us up to date on these two. On this blog, the most recent post is at the top!

More corn!

Sing :- 'In a mid-Oklahoma accent', "There's a bright golden haze on the meddder/ There's a bright golden haze on the medder/ The corn is as high as a Heffalumps eye"/ And it looks like...... and Pickle interrupted, "What is a Heffalump?". The 'guide' explained that was what Winnie-the-Pooh called it. Pickle then asked "What is a Winnie-the-Pooh?", and the 'guide' said, "Oh, I forgot, you aren't from around these parts, as a matter of fact, neither am I. When I first arrived in this country, many years ago, I tried the local delicacy, corn, and thought it tasted like wet cardboard. How do I know? In my younger years during the Depression that was all we had to live on, wet cardboard, my mother worked wonders with it but I never forgot the taste."
