Armistice Day
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month each year is commemorated by two minutes of silence to remember those who were killed in World War One (the war to end all wars?). Actually, in the history of man and his childish ways, there has never been a period in time when somebody wasn't at war with somebody else. However, the Stittsville Legion put on a good and nostalgic display in the Public library last Saturday and I (the 'guide') took Pickle and Pearl to experience it to help in their search for Earth's Military Might. So far on their travels they had not encountered any evidence of anything but peaceful intent on human's part. They had not looked in the right places!. This display opened their eyes to the possibilities of a strong defence. I think their final report will be much different now.
